The residents of Rana Street in Karkar village of Ghaziabad got together to celebrate the inaugural of a refurbished and beautified stretch of their locality under a community development project supported by Sanganeria Foundation for Health and Education and Ultra International Limited and implemented together with Humana People to People India Karkar, Ghaziabad: Bolstering the Government’s Swachh Bharat initiative, residents of the Rana Street area in Karkar village, Ghaziabad, came together today to celebrate the opening of a newly beautified stretch in their locality. The cleanliness and beautification drive is the result of the residents organizing themselves under the Community Development project being implemented by Humana People to People India (HPPI). Under the project, the drains have been covered, new saplings have been planted, dustbins placed at requisite spots and the walls have been painted with motivating social messages and art, giving the hitherto rundown community space a breath of fresh air. The said street will serve as a “Model Street” for the rest of the village with an aim to eventually redevelop and beautify the village area. With an aim to foster sustainable development and provide comprehensive solutions to address the problems of the urban poor, HPPI, in partnership with for Sanganeria Foundation for Health and Education and Ultra International Limited initiated the Education and Community Development project. The project operates in Karkar Village and Maharajpur, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The project extensively works in four areas, namely, Education, Health, Environment and Skill Development and organises various activities to mobilise and sensitise the community members in these domains.
