EOAI was founded in 1956 as a premier organization of scientists, researchers, industrialists, traders, manufacturers, exporters, importers and farmers in the field of essential oils. It was built to promote advancement in the knowledge of science and technology of essential oils and allied products and to help in production and marketing of standard quality products. To support the students/scientists engaged in Research and Development work, EOAI needed more funds and approached Sanganeria Foundation in 2013. Sanganeria Foundation accepted their proposal and donated a sizeable corpus fund.
In collaboration with the University of Plymouth (UK), SFHE conducted a weeklong workshop, “Introduction to Perfumery”, in New Delhi, India in April 2004. This workshop was conducted to give an insight about the Indian Perfumery and Aroma Trades industry. The Plymouth University has long-established links with the International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades (IFEAT), the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the British Society of Perfumers and many other leading creative perfumery houses. The course provided an introduction to the Aroma Trade Industries with an emphasis on sensory, technical and marketing aspects. The technical support from Ultra International Ltd. (parent body of the Foundation) played a pivotal role in making the week, a great success. The week provided a fusion of European marketing developments with the great tradition of technical excellence that has been developing in the Indian perfumery industry. The lively workshop activities gave all 24 participants from India and U.A.E., ideas and new insights to accelerate the development and globalization of the Indian perfumery and aroma trades industry.
