Manju
My name is Manju, wife of Shri Lal Chand of village Narodra in Lacchmangarh block of Sikar District. Agriculture is the sole source of livelihood for our family of 7 members. We own 6 cattle and 5 hectares of land for farming. Dung cakes and firewood were majorly used for cooking which apart from taking more time for food preparation, also caused physical stress as I had to collect fire wood from the forest as well as make the dung cakes,” says Manju.
“With the technical support of HPPI, a biogas plant had been constructed at my house in April, 2015. I am very happy to share that after carefully following all the instructions of project personnel for the use of biogas plant and its stove, my family is using pollution free and odourless gas for use for cooking in the kitchen. Apart from the benefits of biogas plant like hassle free cooking, minimized expenses on other fuel sources; bio-slurry which is by-product of biogas plant and is used as organic manure; have been a boon. Bio-slurry ensures healthy organic food for my family that will be grown without any chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
I am very happy with the installation of the biogas plant and I would like to thank HPPI and project partner for facilitating us through this technology,” says a content Manju.
